Oven S'mores

Updated: Aug 7, 2021

When you live in Saint Louis as I do and the summer temperatures never get below 90 degrees, sometimes you have to find an alternative method to making s’mores. This oven recipe will make an abundance of s’mores for all of your guests and the marshmallows come out perfectly toasted and the chocolate is melted to perfection.

Recipe adapted from Simply Happy Foodie

Nothing says summer like these tasty, campfire treats. Due to my restrictions, I had to come up with an alternative method to make them compliant. Traditional graham crackers are usually dairy-free, but I needed a gluten-free option, as well. There are different varieties of gluten-free graham crackers on the market, but they are pricey and the taste is just okay. My version of Gluten-free Graham Crackers is sweet and crisp with a hint of cinnamon. Feel free to use regular graham crackers if your family does not require gluten-free options.

These tasty treats only bake for a quick 3 to 5 minutes, and you can make enough s'mores to satisfy all of your guests. I topped mine with dairy-free Enjoy Life mini chocolate bars to keep this dairy-free, but feel free to use traditional Hershey bars as well. If you’re feeling fancy, give them a pinch of flaked sea salt before serving. Delish!

Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • Graham crackers (I used homemade Gluten-free Graham Crackers)

  • Marshmallows (Jumbo-cut in half or regular)

  • Chocolate bars (I used Enjoy Life mini chocolate bars, they are dairy-free)

How to make:

Please be sure to reference: Simply Happy Foodie for the source recipe and original instructions.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  3. Arrange the graham crackers on the baking sheet.

  4. Place two Enjoy Life minis or 4 Hershey's squares on each graham cracker.

  5. Place a jumbo marshmallow or two regular marshmallows on top of the chocolate.

  6. Place in the oven.

  7. Bake for 3-5 minutes until the marshmallows puff up and turn a perfect golden brown.

  8. Remove the s'mores from the oven and place another graham cracker on top of the marshmallows and press gently.

  9. Enjoy!

Pro Tip:

For a tasty twist on a traditional s'more, try adding a schmear of peanut butter to the graham cracker before topping it with the chocolate and marshmallow.
